The Hidden Truth Behind Every Wash
True cleanliness should never come at the cost of our health or the Earth.

It begins quietly — with a bottle of detergent, a handful of foam, and a scent that feels safe. But behind every wash hides an uncomfortable truth.

Every year, the world produces over 35 million tons of petrochemical surfactants —the invisible chemicals inside almost every“clean”product. [1] They never truly disappear, and their life-cycle emissions equal those of 50 million cars running nonstop for a year. [3]

Alongside that, more than 15 billion plastic detergent bottles are made annually.
Less than 10% are ever recycled. [2] The rest fragment into microplastics, drifting through rivers, settling in oceans, and finally returning to our food and lungs.

And in almost every home,
the act of cleaning still rests on women’s shoulders —mothers, wives, and daughters who believe they are protecting those they love. Yet the gentle bubbles and fragrances they trust carry carcinogens, allergens, and endocrine disruptors. [6]

Many of these so-called“fresh scents”— orange, lemon, lavender, and sweet citrus notes —
are synthetic fragrance chemicals, not natural aromas. Commonly used in Asian detergents and cleaners,
they are now listed by the European Commission among the 82 restricted high-allergen fragrance substances. [5] Compounds such as Limonene, Linalool, Citral, and Coumarin oxidize in air, triggering allergies and hormonal disruption.

Breast cancer is now the most common cancer among women, its incidence curve rising almost in step with the expan- sion of petrochemical and plastic industries. [4] It is a cancer that almost exclusively belongs to women —
and its global incidence is now approaching the combined rate of the top cancers across both genders.
This is not a coincidence; it is cause and effect.

The industry perfumed danger with illusion, turning“clean”into deception — and turning those who clean the most into the ones most harmed.

This is no longer just an environmental issue. It has become a question of truth, love, and human dignity.

Let cleaning no longer come at the cost of pain.
Let mothers no longer be poisoned by the bubbles of convenience.
Let“clean”once again mean love.

Awakening and Choice

During the pandemic, the world paused.
Cities went quiet, skies turned blue again,
rivers cleared, and the ocean began to breathe.
We all saw it — when humanity slows down,
the Earth heals.
It was a time both frightening and unforgettable,
yet it also showed us how beautiful this planet can be — the sky so blue, the water so clear.
But the calm didn’t last long.
Revenge travel and overconsumption returned.
Plastic waste and pollution surged back like waves. Around that time, I came across a report:
“Household wastewater has surpassed industrial wastewater in pollution.” And the main culprit was what we all use every day —
laundry detergents and household cleaners.
I began reading ingredient labels,
and realized how many of them contained chemicals
that harm both nature and our health.
In recent years, news of friends and relatives with cancer never seemed to stop.
Looking at my children, I knew —

we had to start somewhere.
So we began with something ordinary,
something everyone uses —
a bottle of laundry detergent that could be truly clean.
Five years ago, we started this unlikely journey.
From a zero-petrochemical formula,
we developed NUCLEAN,
and built the iNUCLEAN Station refill system —
bringing cleaning back to its purest form:
leaving no burden, only cleanliness.
We believe real innovation isn’t about making things more complex, but about creating something simple—
something that allows people and nature to live in harmony again. That blue sky shouldn’t remain a memory.
For the past five years,
we’ve turned it into a gift the Earth can use every day —
from every wash, every drop, free of petrochemicals.

The Hidden Truth Behind“Clean”

Intro:
Every home has a silent factory — the washing machine. Each cycle releases not just dirt, but microplastics, fragrance capsules, and residues of petrochemical life. This is not just about clothes — it’s about the hidden system that keeps our planet trapped in a cycle of“fake clean.”
Truth 1|The“Plant-Based”Lie
SLES, APG, and CDEA are marketed as“coconut-derived”or“plant-based.”Yet they’re synthesized from petrochemical ethylene oxide and fatty alcohols —a half-synthetic disguise that damages both skin and fibers, releasing microplastics into waterways.
(Environmental Pollution, 2022; Journal of Surfactants and Detergents, 2021)
Truth 2| Ecocert ≠ Petrochemical-free.
Ecocert allows certified products to contain up to 5% petrochemical-origin ingredients —only when no natural alternative exists —as long as the remaining composition is renewable or plant-sourced.Ingredients such as SLES, CDEA, and PEG — even after undergoing petrochemical ethoxylation processes — can still legally carry the Ecocert label.
Ecocert ≠ Petrochemical-free.

Truth 3|The Invisible PVA Trap
PVA, used in laundry pods, dissolves in water but persists as microplastics. These residues accumulate in rivers and oceans, entering food chains unseen.
(Environmental Pollution, 2023; Water Research, 2022)
Truth 4|The“Long-lasting Fragrance”Myth
Fragrance microcapsules are plastic shells filled with synthetic scent and phthalates. They burst and shed microplastics and VOCs, harming lungs, skin, and hormones.
(Frontiers in Environmental Science, 2023; Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2022)
Truth 5|Microplastics in Our Blood
Microplastics have been found in human blood, lungs, even placentas. Linked to strokes, cancers, and hormonal disruption —they often trace back to detergents, softeners, and fragrance capsules.
(Environment International, 2023; Science of the Total Environment, 2022)
Truth 6|Your Laundry Room: The World’s Biggest Microplastic Factory
Each kilogram of synthetic fabric washed releases 600,000‒1.5 million fibers.Domestic washing now ranks among the world’s largest microplastic sources.
(Nature Sustainability, 2022; Marine Pollution Bulletin, 2023)
Truth 7|Unpaid Workers of the Petrochemical Empire
Every household is an unpaid factory for the petrochemical industry. We wash, discharge, and return their waste to the ocean —fish eat it, birds eat it, and we eat it back.
(Environmental Science & Technology, 2023; Science of the Total Environment, 2022)
Truth 8|The Dreamed Ghost Story: Repackaging Waste
Petrochemical by-products are rebranded as“cleaning agents.”From refineries to households, a closed loop of“fake clean”profits continues.
(Nature Sustainability, 2023; Journal of Industrial Ecology, 2022)
Truth 9|NUCLEAN — The Exit NUCLEAN breaks this loop.
We stop being part of the discharge chain and become the exit itself —a way for the Earth to breathe again.
This is where the cycle ends — and healing begins.

An Open Letter to My Child, and to the Earth

I told my child what I had discovered. He is only twelve.
He looked up at me and said,
"Dad, I saw in the newspaper -
a whale was found with two tons of plastic in its stomach, and a bird had forty pieces of plastic inside."
I looked at his face -
a face still untouched by pollution. And I wondered,
what kind of world will he grow up in?
If I choose silence,
if I hide these truths inside my diary,
the world will keep spinning as if nothing happened.
The bubbles will still sparkle,
and the commercials will still smile.
But I can't.
Because I know,
his future might slowly suffocate inside those shining bubbles.
So I choose to speak.
Not to fight anyone,
but to give him -
to give the next generation - a chance to breathe again.
If the truth makes people uneasy, then let me be the first to feel uneasy. If change needs a beginning,
then I am willing to be that beginning.
-William Father. Witness
